TRAK Dance Ensemble was founded in Salzburg in 2016 by Hector Palacios (MEX).

TRAK is a professional dance and performance company currently based in Stockholm, Sweden. Since its inception, the company has been co-directed by Hector Palacios and Stella Blanc (SWE). Together, they have invited international dancers and choreographers to create a wide range of dance projects that have shaped the artistic identity and development of the ensemble.

At the core of TRAK’s practice is a continuous exploration of new ways to integrate performative performance practices and contemporary movement. The company places strong emphasis on the relationship between body, sound and space, treating music and sound as an essential dramaturgical component of each work. Through close collaboration with composers, sound artists, and performers, TRAK develops pieces in which movement and sound evolve together, shaping narrative, atmosphere, and emotional resonance.

TRAK Dance Ensemble has presented works at festivals including Innovations Dance Platform Edinburgh, Mozartwoche Salzburg, Tanzhaus Festival Salzburg, Red Sapata TANZFABRIK Linz, and Tanečno Festival in Orava, Slovakia. The company has also collaborated closely with venues such as Toihaus Theater and ARGEkultur Salzburg. Since its early years, TRAK has worked extensively with choreographers Ryan Mason and Barnaby Booth, both of whom have played a significant role in defining the company’s artistic direction.

The ensemble has collaborated with numerous institutions, including Stiftung Mozarteum, IWANSON International School of Contemporary Dance, Mozarteum University Salzburg, Orff-Institut Salzburg, Musisches Gymnasium Salzburg, Thomas Bernhard Institut Salzburg, and the mdw – University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna.

Since its founding in 2016, TRAK Dance Ensemble has received cultural funding from the City and State of Salzburg.

Since 2024, the company has been based in Stockholm, Sweden.
